Ober Gatlinburg is nestled just minutes away from the lively atmosphere of downtown Gatlinburg, with a two-mile tramway access that makes it easy to hit the slopes and runs of this fabulous winter Gatlinburg ski park without having to travel too far. If you don’t have your own skiing gear but you still want to ski in Gatlinburg, you can simply take the tram to Ober Gatlinburg, then rent skiing equipment from their rental shop for around $20.00 to $25.00.

The Gatlinburg ski resort is home to a total of ten trails, three scenic chairlifts, and a terrain park that skiers of all skill levels can enjoy. If you’re just starting out or need a little refreshing, Cub Way and Ski School Slope are good runs for beginners. Castle Run, Alpine Run, Bear Run, and Ober Chute are nice intermediate trails, while experienced or advanced skiers can challenge themselves on the difficult Mogul Ridge or Grizzly Trail.

Ranging from 700 feet to 4,400 feet (with Ober Chute topping out the list), these runs offer fantastic diversity for all types of skiing experiences. Additionally, Ober Gatlinburg also keeps its runs lit up at night, making twilight sessions a fun and low-cost alternative to day skiing in Gatlinburg.

While the exact dates will depend on the weather of the winter season, Ober Gatlinburg is generally open from December through March. Ticket prices are broken down by age from as little as $20.00 for a twilight session junior or senior weekday ticket to $185.—for a three-day holiday ski ticket. Tickets to the ski area are free for skiers ages 5 years and under with a paying adult or for skiers 70 years and older.
