The Island is a fun-filled place where you can enjoy rides and games with your family or take your significant other out on a date. Although daiquiris may be a lady’s drink, these fellas make a delicious version of the beverage. The patio is the perfect place to sit and watch the neon lights of the park and watch the carnies close up shop for another night. They have interesting flavors like gummy bear and liquid marijuana. You can get a dude-sized 12-ounce drink, a 25-ounce yard, a 32-ounce tiki or even a 40-ounce hookah. When you are done, you can keep the glass.

 

Gatlinburg Space Needle

Plenty of people come to this observatory late in the evening to just take in the beautiful site of Gatlinburg all lit up and at peace. Modeled after the famed attraction in Seattle, Washington, this tower stands at 407 feet tall and offers a 360-degree view of the town. It was built in 1969 and was the second tallest tower in the state at that time. There are two elevators, so the lines are kept down. The viewfinders in the observation tower are included in the price. You can grab a delicious slice of New York-style pizza or a salad at Slice bakery or play any one of many high-tech games in the arcade in the tower while you are there.

 

Mel’s Diner

Ever since it was used as a filming location in Pulp Fiction, the Los Angeles location of this ‘50s themed restaurant has been consistently packed with tourists at all hours of the day and night. You will find that the Pigeon Forge location is just as lively.

The breakfasts are the big draw. Those with a mighty appetite will like Ms. Nita’s Mo For Your Money Special. The meal includes two eggs and a short stack of pancakes or biscuits and gravy. You also get a side of meat and your choice of hash browns or grits. The fainter of appetite may prefer a vegetable omelet which comes with toast or a simple two-egg breakfast. They also have burgers and fries here. Vegetarians can enjoy a salad or a grilled cheese sandwich. Desserts include a six-scoop banana split and a popular strawberry shortcake.

 

Funky Budha

When you hear the name Funky Buddha, the mountains of Tennessee do not automatically spring to mind. However, once you step into the doors of this rather alternative establishment, you will not want to leave. They have a menu of Asian and Middle Eastern-influenced cuisine. You will not want to pass up the vegetable egg rolls with sweet and sour sauce or their thick beer-battered onion rings. the menu is mostly seafood. But they do offer burgers and other sandwiches. They have a terrific menu of craft cocktails at this Pigeon Forge nightlife hotspot. Make sure to try their deliciously piquant Bloody Mary or they’re sweet and effective blood and sand martini. The dark purple and red decor of the restaurant will make you feel relaxed. The quiet and sophisticated atmosphere is a nice change of pace from the bustle of the Gateway to the Smokies.
