Climb up to the top of a hay mountain before you slide on down. Ride a bike through the hay track or out of the hay maze. Check out giant pumpkins that weigh up to 1,000 pounds being carved into huge jack-o’-lanterns. The festival food lineup consists of classic fall fare such as schnitzel, brats, pretzels with beer cheese, pumpkin spice fudge, and much more. Of course that kind of food is always paired best with German beer with Hofbrau and Spaten on tap. Dollywood’s Harvest Festival

Head on down the street to our neighbors over in Pigeon Forge for another great fall festival with Dollywood’s Harvest Festival. This has been named as one of America’s best fall event and continues to be a tradition here in Pigeon Forge. The Harvest Festival is here to celebrate the changing of the seasons and the beautify of the Great Smoky Mountains. Dollywood is a thrilling amusement park with popular rides such as Big Bear Mountain. After the sun sets, the Great Pumpkin LumiNights illuminates the sky with over 12,000 light up pumpkins. Live music including bluegrass and America will play throughout the festival just as Dolly herself would want. Enjoy seasonal flavors for beverages and desserts that will satisfy your sweet tooth. Bear-Varian Beer Festival

Another local Gatlinburg attraction that is putting their hand in the ring for fall festivals is Anakeesta. They are a popular destination for all kinds of outdoor activities and thrilling fun. During the fall season Anakeesta will put on their Bear-Varian Beer Festival, a two month extravaganza that celebrates German beer with all kinds of goodies. Bear-Varian Beer Festival will offer up all the German food you can muster including pork schnitzel, smashed potatoes, turkey legs, soft pretzels, bratwurst, kraut, and German chocolate funnel fries. Of course, the adults in your group will want to get their hands on a pint of their favorite beer or cider which will be on draft here at Anakeesta. The Bear-Varian Beer Festival is taking place September 15th through October 31st.

Boo Bash at Gatlinburg SkyPark

As the month of October comes in you will notice the colors of the leaves will start to change into vibrant colors of red, orange, and yellow. Gatlinburg SkyPark is another great attraction in the area with one of the largest pedestrian rope bridges in the world. During the month of October SkyPark will get a little spooky with their Boo Bash all month long. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite Halloween costumes and take pictures all across the park. The fun turns up a notch on October 27th and 28th for the Fall Fest. These two days will offer additional activities such as face painting, balloon art, live music, games on the SkyDeck including giant Jenga and corn hole, and prize pack giveaways.
