Winterfest
November 11, 2021, through February 15, 2022
Every year just before Thanksgiving, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg or turned into a winter wonderland. The streets are lined with tiny white lights. Pigeon Forge Parkway features a display depicting the Twelve Days of Christmas in lights. You will also see animals and a nativity scene.
There is a Winterfest Parade that takes place during the first week of December. Many a local organization comes to march in this fun-filled parade. Not only will you see traditional Christmas floats, but you will also see Star Wars characters parading by festively decorated jeeps and motorcycles. You may even see a logger or two riding down the road on a float as they cut wood.
The New Year’s Eve ball drop takes place every year at the Gatlinburg Space Needle, which is located at 115 Historic Nature Trail, Gatlinburg, TN 37738. The structure is modeled after the famous tower in Seattle, Washington, but it won’t cost nearly as much to get inside. If you get to go up in the tower, you will see a 360-degree view of Gatlinburg and the Smokies. The ball drop is accompanied by fireworks and music. There will be plenty of food to eat and it is a great place to spend a family-friendly New Year’s.
Xtreme Winter 2021: Gatlinburg

Xtreme Winter is a Gatlinburg winter event that is designed to represent students with certain life challenges. It takes place over the course of two nights and three days. It features plenty of Christian rock artist that espouse a positive message through song. This year’s lineup includes such artists as Skillet, Zach Williams, Andy Mineo, and We the Kingdom. The kids will also get to listen to talks from spiritual leaders from around the country.
Winter Heritage Festival

This festival is a celebration of the towns in Tennessee and the surrounding area of the Smoky Mountains. You will learn all about the traditional art of the Appalachians here. You will see demonstrations of how the artwork is made and hear stories of how each of the crafts came into being. The event will feature a violin trio that will play the music that was popular in the eighteen-hundreds which includes everything from jigs to classical music. They will play sets at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
10th Annual Miss Winterfest Pageant

This is the tenth year that this children’s beauty pageant has been going strong. You will see many adorable little girls dressed to the nines. There is nothing quite like a real Southern beauty pageant. The winner will go on to compete and state beauty pageants. You will see some truly elaborate costumes at this show and the little girls will get to demonstrate their talents, grace, and style.
Winter Carnival of Magic

The Winter Carnival of Magic is held at the beginning of each March. It focuses largely on card tricks and there are many dealers there. It features a competition amongst magicians. There are two $100 prizes awarded to the winners of the competitions. It also has lectures about magic as well as demonstrations. The theater has plush seating, and you will feel as though you are watching a show on Broadway. Some of the best magicians in the country come to this Pigeon Forge winter event.
