Smoky Mountain Music Festival

When it comes to throwing a huge party, you cannot go wrong with a music festival. Each spring, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge throw the Smoky Mountain Music Festival to critical acclaim. This spring event brings together thousands of elementary, middle school, and high school groups to compete. The Smoky Mountain Music Festival features a variety of music from these groups, including concert bands, orchestras, jazz bands, choral groups, indoor drumlines, and much more. The event takes place at the Gatlinburg Convention Center across three Fridays in April. A parade through Downtown Gatlinburg will kick off this year’s event followed by an award ceremony at the closing of the second and third Friday of the event. This year’s Smoky Mountain Music Festival will take place on Friday April 12, Friday April 19th, and Friday April 26th.

74th Annual Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage

The biggest attraction in the area is the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. It is extremely close by our vacation rentals and features near endless amount of hiking trails to explore. Each spring the annual Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage will take place to highlight the blooming of the local flowers. This year the 74th annual event will be taking place, making it one of the longest traditions here in the area. You will find wildflower lovers from all over the world come to Gatlinburg just for this event. The Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage will feature professionally guided walks through the park, special exhibits, and plenty of learning opportunities about local flora and fauna. You will learn all about local wildflowers, fungi, ferns, medicinal plants, insects, snakes, mammals, birds, and more. This is a great event for those who love outdoor photography. This year’s Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage will take place May 1st through the 4th right here at the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Registration for the event begins on March 1st.

Spring Rod Run

Everyone enjoys a good car show, and that is exactly what you will find over at the Spring Rod Run. This automotive swamp meet and car show will have plenty of vintage cars out on display. Come check out these prized possessions and talk with their owners to learn all about this fascinating hobby. Spring Rod Run will feature a cash prize giveaway along with celebrity guests too. If you live close enough to drive to Gatlinburg, you can even enter your vehicle into the car show. Spring Rod Run will take place April 18th through the 20th at the LeConte Event Center in Pigeon Forge. Other exciting car shows happening this spring in the area also includes the Corvette Expo – Chevys in the Smokies, Grand National F-100 Ford Show, and Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge Car Show. Variety of Live Entertainment Events

Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge also showcase a variety of live performance events throughout the spring. The Gatlinburg Convention Center will be bringing in talent in a variety of genres for you to attend. Come check out Tim Lovelace, B-SHOC, The Collingsworth Family, and Bootleggers here this spring. This includes live standup, live stage performances, and live music. Pigeon Forge also has plenty of event venues, including the LeConte Center at Pigeon Forge and Margaritaville Resort. Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games

Our neighbors in Townsend put on quite a show when they host their annual event, the Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games. This will be the 42nd year for this lively festival that features all things Scottish, Irish, and Celtic. You will have the chance to see live music, Irish dance, whiskey tastings, heavy athletic competitions, and much more. You can even find out if you belong to a Scottish clan. This year’s event will take place at the Townsend Visitor’s Center on May 18th and 19th.
