One of our favorite things about living in our mountain village is being able to experience all the seasons. From the spring coolness with the promise of new beginnings, to warm summer days that stretch out endlessly in front of us, crisp and cool autumn days that smell like apple cider and chimney smoke, and short winter days where the beauty of Gatlinburg is covered with a soft blanket of snow and we can all see our breath. Day 1: Gatlinburg Ski Preparations
Chances are you have arrived too late to get on the slopes today, but that’s ok because it’s the perfect day for exploring your Cabin Rental Store cabin and to start preparing for the next 6 days of adventures! If you are a veteran skier and have packed all you need, you can use this day for napping as well. Day 2: What are you Waiting For?
It’s time for your Gatlinburg ski journey to begin! Grab your skis, your goggles, and your warm winter clothes and head to the slopes. Ober Gatlinburg is a smaller ski area, offering just 10 trails and 2 quad lifts, but the cozy intimacy will only make you love it more! Rising 3300 feet in the area and with at least one trail going on for nearly a mile, this is the magical day you’ve been waiting for!
Day 3: Boarders be Warned
Snowboarding at Ober Gatlinburg can be addictive. Not just happy to offer slopes to board to your hearts content, the terrain park offers obstacles that make your day of snowboarding an exciting adventure! Offering lessons as well as rentals, if you have never snowboarded before, your Gatlinburg ski journey can now be considered a snowboard journey as well!
Day 4: Because There is Safety Staying Seated
We get it, not all snow lovers feel comfortable careening down a slope on two sticks, or even worse, on one big board. That’s why Ober Gatlinburg offers Snow Tubing Hills as well! Costing a fraction of what the lift tickets do, you can play in the snow in 90 minute increments, only standing up to ride the “Magic Carpet” back up the hill you just slid down!
Day 5: So Much Fun, it Bears Repeating
You can’t have a ski journey and only ski once; get back out there and ski, snowboard, tube to your heart’s content! The cold wind in your face, the feel of the snow as it sprays behind you and the views of the Smoky Mountains as you ride the quad back to your favorite trail makes this day your favorite day of all!
Day 6: Après Ski Anyone?
We’re leaving this day’s adventures up to you because we just realized we left out the best part of any Skiing and Snowboarding in Gatlinburg TN journey; getting warm again with a few après ski drinks and appetizers!
