Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade

The holiday events officially kick off with the Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade taking place right here in Gatlinburg. This holiday event kicks off with the tree lighting ceremony in downtown Gatlinburg where the beautiful tree is lit up for the first time for the holiday season. This grand illumination ceremony starts at 7:25 PM at Parkway Plaza. The parade will take off from Baskins Creek By Pass and continue along pasta the parkway. This lovely parade shows off floats decorated for Christmas by local businesses, high school marching bands, and incredible parade balloons. The parade starts at 7:30 PM right after the tree lighting ceremony is complete. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to grab a great viewing spot along the street. You can even purchase grandstand seats along the parade route that will be in the TV zone so you can show up on the local news! The Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade takes place on December 2nd from 7:25 PM to 9:00 PM.

 

Winterfest Lights in Pigeon Forge

Each year a winter wonderland is created in Pigeon Forge where more than 5 million Christmas lights are strung up. You will find holiday displays some being over 25 feet in height along the trail for your viewing pleasure. Each of the lights display is programming to Christmas music allowing them to lit up with the beat to the songs. Winterfest is a local favorite year after year and lasts all holiday season. Our neighbors in Sevierville will be hosting their annual Smokey Bear Turkey Chase 5K again this year. No Thanksgiving holiday is complete without a 5K to help your body kick start the day before filling up on delicious food later in the day. All proceeds of the Smoky Bear Turkey Chase 5K go towards STEM scholarships for students in need. The race will start with a shotgun start and will be held no matter the weather. The Smoky Bear Turkey Chase 5K will take place on November 24th (Thanksgiving Day) at 8:00 AM.
