As the name suggests the celebration kicks off right at midnight and has been named one of the top parades in the country. Get there a little early for a meet and greet with the Harlem Globetrotters! You will find a variety of activities taking place around Downtown Gatlinburg on July 4th but the big finale that night cannot be missed. The 20-minute fireworks show will start at 11:00 PM at the Gatlinburg Space Needle. Visitors can see them from anywhere in Gatlinburg. Now that is one way that summer can be celebrated this year!

 

GatlinBURGER Week

Another exciting event that takes place right at the end of the summer season in Gatlinburg is the highly popular GatlinBURGER Week. No one can turn down a good burger and we have an entire week dedicated to this delicious entrée. Local restaurants will be taking hamburgers to the next level for 7 days. Each restaurant offers a specialty burger during the event and they are all just $9 each. Each burger will be rated to attempt to win the title of GatlinBURGER Burgermeister for the following year. Visitors will be able to download a GatlinBURGER Week passport that lets them keep track of the burger they have tried out. Those who get three or more stamps will also have a chance to win exciting prizes chosen at random! These burgers are always very popular and can run out near the end of closing hours. July 4th Parade and Fireworks

This is not your typical parade, however, as the Gatlinburg 4th of July Parade has been voted as a “Top Ten Parade to See in the US”. This lively event starts off at 12:01 am on July 4th making it the first Independence Day parade in the country to take place. The parade route is over a mile long that winds around Baskins Creek Bypass and travels down Ski Mountain Road in downtown Gatlinburg. Visitors are encouraged to get to the route early to find the best seat as it will fill up quickly. There will be a variety of 4th of July events held in Downtown Gatlinburg throughout the day such as Appalachian music and more. The event ends at 10:00 pm when the incredible 20-minute fireworks showcase lights up the sky over downtown Gatlinburg. Hang out around traffic lights #3 and #5 for the best viewing areas of the fireworks.

Explore one of our country’s biggest national parks on the Gatlinburg 4th of July by visiting the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This expansive and beautiful area is complete with hiking trails that lead down paths featuring wildlife, waterfalls, and much more.
