Funstop Family Action Park

No one appreciates family more than we do, and when you’re visiting the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge region of Tennessee, it’s readily apparent. Although we are a great place to visit for honeymoons and couples’ getaways, we still manage to offer a wide variety of family friendly activities as well. Take Funstop Family Action Park, for example. The business owners of Pigeon Forge understand how families want to play and Funstop is just one of the many places your family can do so during your unforgettable Tennessee vacation!

Located at 3275 Parkway, Pigeon Forge

You may recognize the above address as being very close to the one you are at while visiting Fantasy Golf, and that is because the two family-friendly event centers are neighbors, allowing you to make a day of fun and frolic that will be enjoyed by everyone. Start with a competitive game or two of miniature golf, then head outside for a few more hours of amusement park excitement!

Although every ride and activity at Funstop Family Action Park is fun, the daredevils in your family may want to start with one of the thrill rides they offer. From zipline adventures to the Sling Shot, for a small park the options for excitement are large! Family rides that can be enjoyed by all members include a Ferris Wheel, a Sun Slide, and a really cool Bungee Trampoline that will allow you to reach new acrobatic heights! And because the littlest ones in your group like to mimic the older ones, the kiddy rides are safe but still offer a thrill to the junior daredevils. The Super Truck ride is our children’s fave, but yours will probably want to put all the rides to the test!

But Wait, There’s More!

The folks at Funstop Family Action Park have obviously never heard of the phrase, “less is more,” because the fun doesn’t end with the rides. Featuring indoor, elevated, and outdoor go kart tracks, a Big Top Arcade, and a refreshment stand to fuel hungry bodies during their amusement park adventures, spending an entire day of your vacation at the park (and Fantasy Golf course) will be the highlight of your family vacation.

Things to Do Nearby

Once you have had your fill of amusement park fun, you will find much to do in town. You can take a walk down the Art Trail, where you will find many painters, sculptors and jewelry makers practicing their crafts. Art curators come from far and wide to find pieces for their galleries in this famously creative burg. You may also happen across an actor or two dressed as famous Tennesseans, reenacting a historical event.

You can ride the tram to Ober Gatlinburg and get a fabulous view of the mountains and the city. Once at the top you can enjoy some of the area’s best dining and shopping or go skiing on the slopes.

If you’d rather keep your feet on the ground, you can see one of the town’s famous dinner theater shows. The shows are light-hearted celebrations of the Smokies lifestyle. You may see a retelling of the story of the second coming or the tale of the Hatfields and the McCoys, all accompanied by a delicious multi-course meal.

Restaurants

Gatlinburg is just full of great places to eat from humble diners to fancy restaurants. Your time in town may be limited, so you will want to check out the very best of the bunch.

This busy breakfast spot is popular with both the locals and the many tourists who come through town. It is open for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is served all day. Be sure to try the Cabin Special which consists of buckwheat pancakes and crushed pineapple. If that sounds a bit too sweet, you can always try one of the enormous omelets the place has to offer.

This cafe is open from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and serves light healthy fare in a pleasant atmosphere. The menu changes often and includes such dishes as baked cheese with fruit and crackers and a Strata of the day. Vegans will be happy to know that they can get an Impossible Burger here.

The Red Oak Bistro

669 Glades Rd, Gatlinburg, TN 37738-5466

The many fireplaces in this classy joint make it one of the town’s most romantic restaurants. It features a full bar stocked with high-end liquor and a waitstaff who knows exactly what libation pairs well with what dish. Be sure to try the cheese board that comes with carefully procured cheeses and the beet salad which comes with an amazing vinaigrette dressing.
