Go for a Scenic Stroll or Ride in the Forest

This highly-sought destination within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park has a multitude of awesome trails for hiking, biking, and driving, exposing you to the very best of the park’s natural scenery.

Along Abram’s Creek within Cades Cove, you can take a moderately difficult trail that spans over the course of five miles roundtrip. The popular trail takes you to a waterfall that’s humble in height (a mere twenty feet high) but features a spectacular display of rushing water. The pool below the falls is deep and long; you’ll want to tread carefully, as the powerful undertow and currents near the base of the falls make swimming and jumping in the pool extremely dangerous.

Also in Cades Coveare several trails suited to a variety of skill levels and abilities, including the brief but beautiful Cades Cove Nature Trail to longer trails like Rocky Top and Thunderhead Mountain.

Bicycling is a particularly enjoyable activity in Cades Cove. From early May until late September, the Cades Cove in Gatlinburg loop is open only to bikers and hikers and closed to vehicles on Wednesday and Saturday mornings until 10:00am. It’s the perfect time to get out in the fresh air for an early morning bike ride. You can rent bikes on-site at the Cades Cove Campground Store, or from another bike rental provider in the area.

In addition to hiking and biking, there are a number of guided tours that you can take located near the entrance to the Cades Cove loop. Set off on a horseback riding adventure, or even take your guests for a hayride.

Picnicking is another fantastic, relaxing activity you can enjoy in Cades Cove. This section of the park is home to over eighty different areas for picnicking, making it the perfect place to plan a pleasant picnic in the park!

Things to Do in Town

Once you have finished hiking, you will probably be in the mood for a good meal and a few laughs. Our dinner theater shows are hysterically funny and fun for the whole family. We feed you large country portions of fine Southern food and strong drinks that will make the show even more enjoyable.

We have our very own Space Needle here that is cheaper than the one in Seattle and offers an even more beautiful view. If you visit us for New Year’s Eve, we host a ball drop at the Space Needle that comes complete with fireworks.

Dollywood makes for a fun day out, and you won’t want to miss taking a ride on the wooden roller coaster there. Ober Gatlinburg is a great place to ski and the tram to the top of the mountain runs all year long.
