Gatlinburg, TN is known as the gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains, and when you think of the food the locals eat, you can’t help but think of fried chicken, mashed taters and huge hunks of pie. However, there is a refuge for the healthy in this popular tourist spot. The Gatlinburg Farmers’ Market begins in May and takes place every Saturday at 849 Glades Road near the covered bridge from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There you will find plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. It is open until the middle of September.
