The Gatlinburg Farmers Market

For over 13 years, the Gatlinburg Farmers Market has been providing the Gatlinburg area with local, seasonal farm fresh produce, baked goods, artisan foods, and handmade crafts. Saturday mornings at the market have become a Gatlinburg tradition. Why not add it to your list too while you’re visiting Gatlinburg?

It’s Not Just Veggies

Well, it is mostly about local veggies and fruit, but there are other items on sale too. Look for delicious homemade baked goods, jams and jellies, herbs and flowers, eggs, honey, and meats. You can buy homemade dog biscuits, local crafts like handmade soaps and candles, home décor including handmade pillows and wreaths, and more. You can pick up a few bars of local sheep’s milk soap and a pretty dishtowel as a gift for your dog walker back at home, and you can get plenty of Gatlinburg and Tennessee-themed gifts for souvenirs. In fact, we hope you’ll buy a souvenir coffee mug and a GFM re-useable shopping bag to help support the market.

The local vegetables and fruits are seasonal, so in summer there will be squash, tomatoes, beans, and corn, along with some late spring produce like cabbage, kale, broccoli, and the like. Fall brings beets, pears, pumpkins, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, and more kale. And of course, apples, along with homemade cider, applesauce, and pie!

Plus, the Farmers Market always has some sort of activity, (like painting or scavenger hunts), to keep the kids occupied while you select the best pears for your famous baked pears dessert.
