Easter Sunrise Service
If you are looking to continue a family tradition of Easter service this year you can head on up to SkyPark located near the top of Crocket Mountain. SkyPark is one of our most popular attractions that is sure to bring a smile to your family’s faces. The park features a lovely gondola ride up from Downtown Gatlinburg along with the SkyBridge, one of the longest pedestrian bridges in the country with glass flooring at the middle of the bridge. We highly recommend visiting SkyPark at some point during your visit to Gatlinburg. They will be hosting an Easter Sunrise Service that is perfect for those who wish to start their day early. The Easter Sunrise Service starts at 7:15 AM and is a great way to see the gorgeous sunrise from the mountaintop. Rides from the SkyLift will begin at 6:45 AM, giving you plenty of time to reach the top. The service is absolutely free to attend and will also provide you with paid access to the rest of SkyPark. Great Smoky Mountains Spring Arts & Craft Show
One of the biggest annual events that takes place here in Gatlinburg is held weeks leading up to Easter. We are talking about the Great Smoky Mountains Spring Arts & Craft Show that will return this year in March. If you are visiting Gatlinburg during the month of March, you will have the chance to prepare for your Easter holiday by stopping by this beloved craft show. While the name has been changed from the Easter Arts & Craft Show to the now called Spring Arts & Craft Show, you can still expect all things Easter related. This is the one time of the year when local artists will be hosting sales on their Easter related goods that are available for purchase. You can find all kinds of handcrafted items made by local artisans. This event is scheduled to take place from Tuesday March 18th to Sunday March 23rd from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM every day with free admission.
Ride the Bunny Hopper Express
The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad is a local attraction that you do not want to miss. This railroad located in Pigeon Forge is a fully operational train line that will take you all across the region. They offer holiday themed rides throughout the year including Easter. Their Bunny Hopper Express will be taking place from April 18th to the 20th and is a wonderful 4.5-hour train ride through the Smoky Mountains. You will depart from historic Bryson City Depot and have a picturesque voyage. The Easter Bunny finds a way to sneak on the train for photos with the whole family. Children will be able to enjoy an Easter egg hunt where countless eggs can be retrieved. An Easter treat is provided to the junior railroaders during the brief layover during your journey. Pigeon Forge Easter Egg Hunt
Our neighbors at Pigeon Forge also provide a free Gatlinburg Easter Egg Hunt each year. The drive to Pigeon Forge from our vacation rentals is always short and easy. This year’s festivities will take place on April 19th over at Wear Farm Park. This free event begins at 9:00 AM where kids can join in on a lovely Easter egg hunt. The four baseball fields will each host a different age bracket egg hunt so all the kids can have a fair chance at finding as many eggs as possible. Make sure to bring your own Easter egg basket as they are not available at the event for purchase. The Easter Bunny will also be on hand for pictures and there is a free raffle. Let the kids jump it out in the bounce house and inflatables. Don’t miss out on this absolutely free event taking place in Pigeon Forge.
